Job Description

Job Title: Senior Carer/Team Leader.

Main Purpose of Job: To provide care and other tasks as specified User’s individual service/care plan, to a high standard in accordance with Company policies and Procedures. To assist the manager in training and monitoring the care staff and to complete other management level tasks as and when required.

Reporting to: The Registered Manager or their representative

Mandatory requirement: Driving licence and Access to own vehicle (Mileage is paid).

Main Tasks:

  1. Assisting with personal care including; bathing, washing, shaving, oral hygiene and hair care, dressing, undressing and assisting with all toilet and continence requirements.
  2. Ensuring that Service Users have given their consent prior to any examination, care, treatment or support taking place and that all Service Users are treated with respect.
  3. General light domestic duties including laundry and ironing.
  4. Assisting with the cooking of light meals, preparing snacks and the provision of beverages.
  5. Carrying out tasks as specified in the service user’s individual service/care plan, taking action to enable the service user to carry out as much self-care and other activities as possible.
  6. Helping with handling the service users’ money in respect of collecting pensions and the payment of bills including shopping. Ensuring accurate and up to date records are kept.
  7. Assisting with pet care, including feeding and walking.
  8. Transporting service users to local amenities and to medical appointments.
  9. Contributing to accurate and detailed record keeping whilst maintaining the service.
  10. Contribute to the team effort.
  11. Assist the manager in training and monitoring the care staff.
  12. Complete other management level tasks as and when required.

Job Types: full-time, part-time, permanent, temporary contract, fixed term contract

Salary: up to £16.00 per hour

Day range: every weekend and Monday to Friday

Physical settings: homecare, live-in, sheltered housing

Shifts: day shift/night shift

Ability to commute/relocate: The job location is in and around the towns and villages of Hertfordshire (required).

Work Experience: at least 6 months (required)
